About Us

DC402 is Omaha's DEF CON Group, gathering every second Tuesday of the month at a central Omaha venue. We are an informal, social community that leans technical but stays genuinely welcoming to anyone curious about security and technology.

Our members span a wide range of backgrounds: U.S. government and military, digital forensics, law enforcement, capture-the-flag competitors, industry practitioners, academics, and people who simply want to understand how things work. That breadth is intentional. Good ideas come from diverse perspectives, and we would rather have a big tent than a narrow one.

Talks at our meetings are most often security-related, but we welcome drifts into adjacent territory including tech policy, privacy, hardware, radio, and anything technically interesting. You do not need to be an expert to present. A curious question, a weekend project, or a half-finished idea is more than enough to get on the schedule.

DC402 is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Jessi and Brad helped put in the early work that got DC402 off the ground. They have since moved on to new cities, but their contributions are appreciated.
